Showing Our Support for the U.S. Coast Guard

VT Halter Marine participated in the U.S. Coast Guard Foundation’s fundraising dinner held in early March 2020. This prestigious event was a tribute to the U.S. Coast Guard’s Eighth District. VT Halter Marine executives met with the Coast Guard leadership which demonstrates our commitment to the Polar Security Cutter (PSC) programme as well as support for its charitable programmes.

Attending from VT Halter Marine were President and CEO Ron Baczkowski, Deputy President Rob Mullins, Executive Vice President of Business Development Robert Socha, Senior Vice President of Programme Management (PSC) Ron Rabago, Director of Programme Management Bill Bingle, Programme Manager (PSC) Lance Lemcool, Contracts Manager (PSC) Rob Gibson and from ST Engineering North America, Director of Communications Guy Shields. In addition to the U.S. Coast Guard officials, attendees included customers and service providers from various marine companies.

During the course of the evening, the VT Halter Marine contingent was able to network with various Coast Guard officers. The Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, Admiral Karl Schultz, acknowledged our work on the PSC. We extended an invitation for him to visit the Pascagoula, Miss., shipyard, to witness the inaugural plate-cutting ceremony in 2021.

Additionally, the VT Halter Marine executives met with Vice Commandant, Admiral Charles Ray and U.S. Coast Guard Eighth District Commander, Rear Admiral John Nadeau.

The Coast Guard Foundation helps the families of members who die in the line of duty, provides scholarships to members and their families, provides fitness gear to prepare members for gruelling jobs, and even installs playground equipment for families stationed on base, far from home.

It was indeed a memorable and meaningful night as we recognise the efforts and contribution of the foundation towards the Coast Guard members and their families.
