Greater Synergies for Ship Repair in the US
VT Marine recently acquired facilities of 38 hectares for offshore oil and gas rig repairs, upgrades and conversions.
Since the downturn of the offshore and marine industry, ST Marine has been looking to acquire assets representing long-term value which can also enhance its capabilities whilst offering scale advantages in the marine repair segment. With the acquired assets situated in a prime location in the Gulf of Mexico, within close proximity to VT Halter Marine’s Pascagoula yard, this acquisition is expected to derive shared services synergies across common areas and will be working towards optimisation of production resources and facilities between both yards. It can also achieve a more efficient capital allocation and resource utilisation operationally. Coupled with the complementary business in VT Halter Marine, customers can now be offered a more comprehensive suite of offshore and marine services.
VT Marine also advocates a pursuit of excellence in ensuring superior safety and performance. With the notion “Safe Work Environment is our First Priority” as its core, zero incidents is its goal and minimal expectation. VT Marine operates at a world-class safety standard and its history of safety performance and awards, quality achievement and respect for the environment are a testament to these high standards.
